Peace and blissings to all unversal beings on this so called planet earth! This center will serve as a safe haven for community youth as well as elders. This center will provide neighborhood youth a place to learn life skills and educational studies and above all be safe. In this time of after school programs being cut from budgets in schools our youth are left with nothing to do and no where to go.
We will offer many workshops to help assist our youth to be ready for life after High School. These workshops will include life skills (how to write a resume, how to handle job interviews, how to dress for job interviews). We will have guest speakers to conduct these workshops and to help prepare the children. Some workshops can be overseen by community elders many of which are retired professionals. This gives them a sense of worth and something to occupy themselves, and it also helps bridge so-called generation gaps as both the elders and the youth learn more about each other.
In this time where obesity is a major issue in our communities we will conduct classes and workshops nutrition and healthier living. We will also have a gym. The gym will provide a clean safe environment for our children to play, exercise, and learn the spirit of competition through organized sports. The gym will also be used for self defense classes. We would also have an exercise room for weight training, calisthenics, and aerobics.
We will also include a recording studio, photography studio, and other arts and craft studios/workshops (drawing, sculpting, and painting). This will give the members of the center hands on experience with professionals in their respective fields. All these programs are important to the development of the creative skills in our youth. A lot of these programs are no longer available in schools.
We will also provide child care services. There are many young mothers in our community that want to work or go to school but they can’t because of the lack of safe places to provide child care. The elders can also be an important part of child care.
We will also have a library which will provide our youth with a place to do their homework as well as read up on things that they will not learn in school.

The West Coast made wearing patches on a vest popular but definitely not the concept of colors in general. Research: Early gangs of New York: Plug Uglies, Dead Rabbits, Chichesters Gangs, on up to the 1950's gangs like the Viceroys, Dragons, Imperial Knights et c. In Chicago: Latin Kings, Vice Lords, Black P-Stone Rangers, the Gaylords et c. The point is that the origins & concept of reppin' "colors" can't be claimed only by the West Coast. Actually, Google "Queensboro M.C. (Est. 1910)" and check out when this NYC Motorcycle Club started, as well as, "Yonkers M.C.N.Y. (Est. 1903)" I'm not sure when they started flyin' colors but they claim to be around for almost one hundred years! However, there is no doubt that the West Coast M.C.'s made the dress code popular, especially because of the Hollywood films and most clubs will agree with this fact.

With that said, let's get back into the topic of dancers flyin' top & bottom rockers with a center patch. Without a doubt, it was NYC that set this off! Not only did we adapt the M.C. dress code, we took it to another level in the way we adorned & hooked up our colors. Since most of the colors back in the day were hand made, we added sneaker laces down the sides to make up for the rawhide on leather vests, little bells, raccoon & fox tails, fur collars, as well as an assortment of trimmings and "doo-dads". We made the whole "Outlaw" style Funky. Gangs like: Savage Samurais, Renigades of Harlem, Devils Rebels, Filthy Mad Dogs, Majestics, The Dukes, et c. brought a whole new flavor to the lifestyle of the "Outlaw" identity. Quite often, these inner city youth were disenfranchised and economically challenged so yes, they did fly colors with sneakers if they couldn't afford boots. The established motorcycle club members were usually older and enforced the strictly boots rule.

Because I felt personally & partially responsible for bringing back the tradition of the top & bottom rockers with a center patch to the Hip Hop dance scene, I made it my business to pull both King Uprock & Alien Ness, (as well as other dancers who are thinking of doing the same), aside and expressed my concerns about their dancers who fly three separate patches. I felt that they were responsible for schoolin' their members about the dress code and how it could affect their lives. I do hang out with well established motorcycle clubs and street commandos and know how some of them feel about peple mocking or fakin' the funk with rockers & a center patch. The truth is that at times there is beef between the "Biker Boys" bikers who ride Japanese made racing motorcycles and the bikers who ride "Hogs," those who ride Harley Davidson, Indians, or Triumphs. Sometimes the beef stems from the fact that the "Biker Boys" wear three separate patches and the traditional "Outlaw" bikers ain't feelin' them. As a result, some of the "Biker Boys" have changed their patches and connected all three, making one solid patch. In essence, this is like a "loop hole" or alternative that might alleviate potential beef. The second you put on a set of colors that have three separate patches, you have entered the world of the Outlaw bikers whether you like it/ know it, or not. Outlaw bikers have their own set of rules and may not give a rat's ass if you try to explain yourself as a dancer. You might have to pay the price. If you didn't know, now you know! I chose to make a set of RSC & UZN patches before anyone on this board did. I did it because I grew up around the Savage Samurais and always wanted to fly patches. Shortly after I made these colors, Joey Juice (Original Warlord of the Savage Samurais) and I were going to bring the club back out. We made patches and wound up hanging them up since I was too busy with my documentaries and couldn't commit 100%. Joey went on to become an officer with the Ching-A-Ling Nomads M.C. and I inherited the Savage Samurais, which I might bring back out some day. I fly colors with a clear overstanding of the potential danger. That is my choice. Is this what you want?

So then why is it no matter who we are we are still compelled to gossip? I did some research and this is what I came up with:
1.To feel superior.2.To feel like part of the group.3.For attention.4.For control or power.5.Out of Jealousy.6.Need for revenge.7.Out of Boredom.8.To gain allies.9.To gain influence (name dropping, etc.)10.To be seen as “in the know”11.Because you’re frustrated and just want to vent.
What are different types of gossip?
So now we ask our selves how we identify the different types of gossip. How we can better know if we are gossiping is to identify the different types of gossip.
1.Slander: Slander is when people spread rumors or lies about a person in order to purposely cause pain or damage. Maybe they want to see this person humiliated or turn others against him or her. They make up lies or pass on embarrassing rumors that probably aren’t true.
2.Dishing: You may hear people say,”Give me the dish!” or “Let’s dish the dirt!” Dishing is another word for gossiping, and a kind of general spreading of rumors and gossip that people don’t usually think twice about. It’s a little different than slander, because most of the time, people don’t dish with the aim of causing someone pain and humiliation. However, sometimes it does just that.
3.Fears or concerns: Many rumors tap into people’s common fears, and this makes them sound true even though they usually are not. These are often rumors that involve the threat of physical danger, the unknown and unfamiliar, and things that are gross or way-out weird.
4.Jokes or wild stories: Sometimes rumors start out as silly jokes, then get spread around and changed over and over again. When lots of people are telling the same tale, it makes it seem more like the truth. You might think, “How can all these people be wrong?” When these rumors last long enough and spread far enough, they actually become part of our culture, often called “Urban Legends,” “Modern Legends,” or “Urban Myths.”
5.Cyber gossip: If you’ve ever heard something juicy in an online chat room or in an IM from a friend, you know that the Internet has made it easy to spread a rumor to lots of people with lightning-fast speed. “Cyber-gossip” can involve any of the other types of gossip mentioned here (Slander, Dishing, Fears or concerns, jokes and wild stories). It’s easy for people to feel less responsible when starting a rumor online, especially if they’re able to do it anonymously. Remember that starting a rumor this way, or passing it on, can be even more damaging than if it’s done in person because of how many eyes it can reach in a short period of time. A hurtful or vicious rumor that’s spread through cyber-gossip should be taken just as seriously as any other kind of rumor.
Who happens when you choose to gossip?
I have observed that it is a common belief that only the person being gossiped about is the only person being hurt by gossip. This is not the case everyone around the gossiper is actually affected by their gossiping ways. The reason why we as Amazulus call it the greatest sin is because its effects are so far reaching and can damage so many people with just a few words.
1.First and foremost, the first person hurt by gossip is the gossiper. I know it sounds weird but it really is true! Really think about it!
•You lose all credibility with your co-workers and people will no longer trust you. They’ll wonder what you’re saying about them to other people. They'll also feel if they tell you something in confidence, you may spread that information. Once you lose your integrity, it’s very hard to get it back.•You may find that the person you gossiped to will go and tell the very person you talked about. Instant office conflict. Also, you’ll probably feel bad about saying those things in the first place. Or if you have gossiped in an email, other people could end up seeing that email (walk up behind the person when they’re reading it, it gets forwarded by mistake, etc.). Also, people tend to keep email forever so something you said 6 months ago may come back to haunt you.•You’re going to worry about what others are saying about you. You end up making yourself paranoid when you probably don’t need to be.•It creates conflict for no reason.•It decreases the morale of your workplace which in turn will affect your own mind set.•It cuts productivity; yours and others.•You may end up wasting a lot of energy worrying about things that never happen (layoffs, change in staff positions).•You get wrong information (could be very damaging depending on what you do with the information). Someone says “so and so said this about you.” It may not be true and now you have bad feelings about someone and a situation that may never have happened.•It could affect your promotion prospects (if leadership knows that you gossip, they’re far more likely to pass you over for a promotion). Also, at some point in the future you may end up being in a p position directly under that person you gossiped about.•Karma – remember the old saying, “what goes around, comes around”. When we spread rumors and gossip, it will end up coming back to hurt us.•We usually end up creating a negative environment and who needs that? While gossipers themselves might not immediately suffer for their loose tongues, eventually they will be found out. The consequences may include poor performance reviews, no promotion, reprimands from leadership (written warnings, suspension, etc.), or possibly dismissal from the nation because of their involvement in destroying the morale of the nation or chapter or committing slander.
These are all things that end up damaging your self confidence.
2.I also found in my research that gossip also hurts the people standing around just listening.
•First of all evil prevails when good people stand by and do nothing (so you are letting the gossiper win by not saying anything).•People’s memories aren’t always the best and you could be left the gossiper in peoples memories (meaning people can say you said the gossip) you can deny it but if you didn’t say anything against it, it could stick as you were the gossiper.•It disrupts you positive energy flow and can block chakras negative begets negative.•If the person being talked about is someone you know the person being gossiped about will wonder why you didn’t defend them.•Guilty by association (you are the known by the company you keep).
3.Last but not least the gossiped about is hurt the most
•It can leave the person with feelings of embarrassment, hurt, anger, and self doubt.•Depending of how far and bad the gossip is it could make it impossible to gain their reputation back.
It starts out innocently enough, you are in a meeting or gathering and someone approaches you. “Peace Ahki/Malika! Did you hear about _____________?” naturally out of concern it happens with most people “Peace! No I didn’t hear what happened with _______________, what happened?” ok so this is where is starts now before we go any further, let’s examine a little bit.
What is the righteous way of thinking about at this point?
Ok so the key questions have been asked. You see that the person wants to talk about _____________ private affairs. What is the right mind frame to use? Key points to remember are:
•First, consider the person who is the gossip spreader.•Why is this person presenting the information?•Can any good come from it?•Will the information benefit you or the office in which you work?•What’s in it for the gossip?
If the answers to these questions are fuzzy, you can probably assume the news bearer is reveling in knowing something others don’t yet know. Such “news,” whether accurate or not, provides a momentary feeling of superiority and control that the gossiper probably lacks otherwise. If this person’s nation performance isn’t sufficient cause for recognition, then the next best option is to stake a claim as the one with the latest inside dirt.
Unfortunately, a gossiper isn’t satisfied just possessing the information. After all, knowledge that isn’t shared is wasted, right? How would others know the value of this soul unless the intelligence is disseminated?
Ok so now that we have the righteous way of thinking about it. Here is the biggest question of all
How do we stop this venom from spreading?
Practical steps to avoid the plague
Since no one benefits from gossip, here are three easy steps you can take to avoid this career-killing behavior:
1.Don’t do it yourself–ever. No, you aren’t talking about people for their own good. You’re gossiping! If you really want to help someone, talk to the person directly.
2.When someone tries to gossip with you, you can:
•Walk away.•Change the subject.•Directly state, “I’m not comfortable talking about __________.”•Directly state, “I don’t like talking about other people because I don’t like them talking about me.” That’s a conversation ender for sure.•Reply, “I hadn’t heard that about __________. Let’s go ask him/her.” (Watch a gossip disappears when you say that. Gossips are notorious cowards and dread confronting their subjects.)
3.When someone is gossiping about you, you can:
•Go with the direct approach. Say something such as, “I heard that you’ve been saying the following about me.” Then briefly summarize what you have heard. Next, say, “While I wasn’t there to hear you, I would appreciate you’re coming to me directly with any questions or comments rather than talking with our nation/friends/family/etc.”•Go with the indirect approach. Say something such as, “I don’t know if you’ve heard the rumors going around about me or not, but they’re really disturbing. If you hear of anyone talking about me, I would appreciate it if you would ask them to stop.”
Just remember, if you don’t gossip, you don’t have to worry about someone betraying your confidence and telling other people what you said.
Remember, too, to distance yourself from gossips since you are known by the company you keep.
Gossip can be found in just about every office. Some will say it’s just harmless fun but rarely is that the case. In fact, it’s a great way to destroy your own self confidence. Gossip is seductive though and it’s very easy to get caught up in it. But, have you ever thought about why you do it when you know you shouldn’t?

"If all were there when we first took the pill, Miracles will happen as we speak!"Ahki Samssunhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15805946152721931322noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8222401178579091428.post-86910404505377416892010-09-11T09:37:00.003-04:002010-09-11T09:48:05.648-04:00UZN Building Fund PSA

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8222401178579091428.post-21704749547511824072010-09-10T08:44:00.002-04:002010-09-10T08:47:12.871-04:00Happy Born Day Roy Ayers!
<img style="WIDTH: 309px;
